AOC has announced a new 16 inch portable LED monitor that aims to make a two screen work environment highly portable. Through the use of DisplayLink technology, AOC is able to send a signal and power this monitor by a single USB 3.0 cable. In addition to cutting down required cables (AC, VGA), AOC’s new LED monitor is super thin and even includes a carrying case. It comes with a built-in kickstand but is also able to be displayed on a wall with a VESA mount. Tech specs include a max resolution of 1366×768 at 60Hz, 5ms response time, and 16.7 million colors.
9to5Mac reviewed this model’s 22 inch predecessor and found it to be suitable for anyone looking to easily add a second screen to their computer setup at a decent price. That version only supports USB 2.0, unlike the new 16″ model which has USB 3.0 for faster transfer speeds and improved image quality.
The AOC E1659FWU 16″ portable LED monitor is now available for preorder exclusively from Amazon for $130 with an expected shipment date of August 5th.
