After previewing Microsoft’s free Xbox One game promo in our Friday games post, it has officially gone live this morning. We’ve got all the details of where and how to cash in on it.

Get a free game (up to $59.99 value) when you purchase an Xbox One console. This promo is scheduled to run until September 13th, but we wouldn’t be surprised if popular titles sell out sooner.

Now, retailers are including different console configurations and bundles, which could make it a bit confusing. That’s why we’ve outlined the purchase details from our favorite retailers, including Amazon, Gamestop, Best Buy, and more…

Amazon: Head to this promo landing page, select an Xbox One console, select a game to get free, proceed to checkout. Simple process, but only includes two console choices: Kinectless Xbox One for $399 and an Xbox One w/ Forza 5 and Kinect for $499. Destiny is included.

Gamestop: Add a console to your cart, add any Xbox One game (preorders excluded) ($59.99 or less) and proceed to checkout. The value of the game will automatically be deducted from your order. Destiny will not be available for this promo until it is released on Tuesday. However, the Xbox One Madden 15 console bundle for $399 is eligible.

Best Buy: Choose a game, choose a console, proceed to checkout. The value of the game will automatically be deducted from your order. Destiny will not be available for this promo until it is released on Tuesday. Madden Xbox console bundle is excluded, but most other console models are available.

Best Buy and they are offering this week In-Store only the same promo but adding for free their Gamer’s Unlocked membership ($120 value). The membership gives you 20% off new games (even when on sale) and 10% off used games.

I have this membership and as a gamer I’ve saved a lot of money.
