Palate takes on George Forman with its new Smart Grill

With the rapid advancements in home automation, you knew that it was only a matter of time before you could cook your steak from your iPad. We’ve already covered how to place your homemade espresso order from your couch, now Palate is coming onto the scene with the new Smart Grill. While there are a number of countertop grills already on the market place, it’s the unique feature cooking style of the Palate Smart Grill that sets it apart.

While smart devices in the kitchen are hardly a new fad, their execution has at times left users wanting more. The Palate Smart Grill aims to change that with their simple user interface and sleek, modern design. Cooking is fairly straight forward, simply place your meat between the electric cooking plates, set the desired doneness of your meal via the iOS app and your food will begin cooking. With the ability to cook up to temperatures of 600 degrees fahrenheit, the Smart Grill can achieve a “higher temperature than any electric contact grill on the market”. Additionally, the grill includes a unique searing function that puts the finishing touches on the meat just prior to serving.

With Apple’s HomeKit addition to iOS 8, our world is becoming more connected than ever, whether it is our lights or garage door look for more innovations in this area to continue to develop. The Palate Smart Grill is not yet available for order, however you can sign up to be notified through their site when the product is released.
