Released back in April, R.B.I. Baseball 14 for iOS is getting its first discount today. Regularly listed at $4.99, the fast paced, arcade style Baseball title is available for $1.99 today on iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. You’ll also find the title 60% off on Android ($1.99) and 50% off as a digital download on Xbox 360, Xbox One and PlayStation 3/4.

It is a remake of the classic R.B.I Baseball franchise that debuted in the late 1980’s and spawned a pair of follow-up releases. Known for its quick and addictive sports action, developer MLB Advanced Media sought to bring back the fun and arcade like nature of the original release to modern day platforms.
It brings all 30 MLB teams as well a modernized art style to the simple, retro Baseball experience many of us will remember. You can play full 9 inning games in less than 20 minutes with a simple two button control scheme. Expect to see your usual Season, Postseason and quick Exhibition modes.
While reviews seem to be slightly mixed, most seemed to be impressed with the title’s simplicity and addictive nature, as you can see below. Many of the negative commenters seemed to forget this is supposed to be a simple and not overly complicated or realistic experience.
If anything, it can be good way to pass the time until game 1 of the World Series kicks off tomorrow night. If you happen to have an NES (or something that plays original cartridges) laying around, the original R.B.I. Baseball is available for just a few bucks on Amazon.
