GE built a smart Keurig brewer directly into its new Café French Door refrigerators

GE has unveiled its latest hybrid Café French Door fridge/Keurig brewer combo. While some may prefer the Chemex and Wilfa pour-overs, or even the French press/Aeropress options out there, Keurig’s simple and affordable standard isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. GE doesn’t think so either, having now built a dedicated Keurig brewing system directly into the front face of its latest refrigerator/freezer…

The previous model GE Café series fridges were among the first to introduce a built-in hot water dispenser, so the Keurig brewer attachment piece seems to be an obvious evolution for the company. A small unit detaches from the front of the fridge which can then be loaded with any typical K-cup pod. The unit is then inserted back into the fridge face for brewing. From there, the water is sourced from the Café’s filtration system, as you would imagine, with the LCD display prompting users for cup size once a pod is detected.

Arguably one of the best Keurig options out there, not only are you getting filtered water with no manual labor in your morning coffee, but there are also handy smart functions available as well. Remote smartphone app control lets you pre heat water so that the machine is ready to brew the second you wake up.

The new GE Café French Door refrigerator is set to begin shipping this fall with a suggested retail price of around $3,300. More details below:
