Ubisoft unveils the debut trailer for its new Rayman Adventures mobile game

Update (7/7 3:15pm): Ubisoft has now launched the official site for the new game, along with some new details and screenshots you’ll find below:

Ubisoft just announced a brand new Rayman game coming to mobile. The trailer below shows of the new title’s impressive (console looking) visuals and what appears to be a full-on adventure platformer. The mobile Rayman games, as stellar as they are, have generally remained in the realm of the endless runner, but it looks as though Ubi might be attempting to bring a more console-like Rayman experience to mobile for the first time:

Rayman Adventures will star the titular character along with his new viking companion, Barbara, in their quest to save the sacred tree. The duo must save the Enchanted Forest by hunting down the ancient eggs that have been stolen and scattered across the world.

Outside of that details are still a little scarce, but judging by the gameplay footage in the trailer above, this does indeed look like a more console-like Rayman game with detailed side-scrolling levels, exploration, power-ups, boss battles and more. At the every least, it doesn’t look like your typical endless runner game.

The trailer says it’s coming soon, and if the previous Rayman mobile titles are any sign, it is likely to hit both iOS and Android when it does. Rayman Jungle and Fiesta Run go for $2.99 each on the App Store, so it is probably safe to assume Adventures would fetch a slightly higher price tag when it drops, but we will have to wait and see.

You’ll find all of our best iOS, Mac and console price drops in our daily game/app roundups.
