It is the latest in a long line of great compact speakers from Soundfreaq, although this one has a nice alarm clock built in. The Sound Rise features a custom speaker driver that produces crystal clear sound. This is aided by an upright design, which also minimizes the room it takes up on your nightstand, leaving space for your phone to charge via the in-built USB port. You can stream music from any Bluetooth audio device, listen to FM radio, or plug in your MP3 player via the 3.5mm jack. The alarm has separate modes for weekdays and the weekend, plus a nap timer and a backup battery. You can choose between music, radio, or chime as your wake-up call, and the brightness of the clock face can be adjusted.
