Those hover boards that have gotten popular recently sure look like a convenient way to get around. What ever happened to skateboards? Those have always been a classic method of transportation of the youngsters.

To discuss more about skateboards, or one in specific, the Lou Board looks like a sweet ride. This product is fully funded on Kickstarter and is based in Zurich, Switzerland. The team behind this skateboard calls it “the ultimate electric skateboard,” and we’re about to see why.

The Lou Board has a carbon fiber body (2.0 and 3.0 only) and is meant to last a very long time, and through a lot of usage. Even so, it is lightweight and sleek. Additionally, the battery is hidden well into the build and does not stick out from underneath the board. It needs two hours to fully charge, and it allows for traveling of 10mph on average. Lou rides smoothly without a charge as well, just as a normal skateboard would.

Portability is important, and the Lou Board is light and easy to carry or even to place in a backpack. If need be, the wheels can be removed to help move it around with you. Since this product reached over $100,000 via funding, the team is applying a replaceable battery, giving the rider the ultimate freedom to go the distance.
