WATTS is the customizable battery backup system meant to fit any home

One of the biggest struggles these days in terms of using technology is ensuring that all of our devices are fully charged. This can be quite the challenge though when disaster strikes or when something goes wrong and you lose power. Kicking old generators to the curb, a new home battery system named WATTS hopes to add ‘personal power plants’ to as many homes as possible.

At first glance, WATTS may look like any typical power pack. However rather than powering individual devices, it supplies power to one’s entire home. Similar to Tesla’s powerwall, WATTS acts as a battery backup for one’s home to ensure that you never have to go without power.

Differing from Tesla’s offerings, WATTS is entirely customizable. Each module is about 18 x 13-inches, just over four inches tall and is designed to stack on top of another unit. While one block only packs a 1.2 kWh battery, several can be combined to offer more flexible energy options.

Thanks to this, the system can be configured to suit a wide range of power needs. So depending on what you might need to supply power to, you can use a different number of blocks. For instance, four power modules can keep lights on and a refrigerator going for 2 days. That isn’t all though, it can also power a TV and a computer on for up to 20 hours as well as a washing machine running for a single load of laundry.

Realizing that we all don’t get our energy directly from the power grid, WATTS can be charged from solar panels,  wind turbines and even old-school generators. WATTS is intelligent as well, sporting a connected iOS and Android application. Through the mobile app, you can fully control the output of the power supply and monitor accurate statistics about how the energy is being utilized in your home.

As of now, WATTS is available for preorder starting at $2,999 per unit. If you aren’t sure how many blocks you’ll need to power your living space, the product’s website includes a page that walks you through selecting the perfect configuration. So whether you’re looking for just one to add some extra power to your life, or several to power an entire home, Watts can help meet your needs.

If you’re currently in the need of something to tackle your energy-related issues, perhaps Anker’s PowerHouse is just what you’re looking for. To learn more, you can check out our in-depth review.

WATTS lets you create personal power plant from any available power source. It is as easy as using TV, just connect the socket and push the On button. Use any sources of power for charge and give back an extra to the grids. Each module already includes all necessary elements of the power supply system and does not require additional spendings. The modular system is maintenance-free, extremely easy to use and works on the principle of plug-and-play. The lifetime of WATTS more then 10 years
