It’s now possible to 3D print customized video game characters right from Amazon

3D printers aren’t the most practical gadget. They are bulky, expensive, and a pain to maintain. Amazon’s 3D Printing Store lets you create great looking objects without having to deal with the hassles of owning a 3D printer. Over the past year Amazon has increased the number of available 3D designs by more than 150 percent. But today’s addition of video game characters may be its best yet:

Using the Sandboxr design app, you can now customize 35 characters from Infinity Blade, Smite, and Primal Carnage. Everything from the character’s pose to their weapon can be tailored and brought to life as a highly detailed 3D printing. Amazon then delivers the figurine right to your doorstep. Prices start at $29.99 and can run as high as $89.99.

Hopefully today’s announcement opens the door for more game companies to put their characters on the Amazon 3D Printing Store. I would throw money at Amazon and Nintendo to be able to customize a Donkey Kong figure riding in a kart and tossing a banana.
