LEGO Architecture teases upcoming Skyline series featuring some of the world’s most famous cities

In what seems to be an annual tradition, LEGO remains amongst the top of this holiday’s most wanted items. Star Wars kits have received the most publicity leading up to Christmas due to the movie’s impending release. But around here, we’re big fans of LEGO’s Architecture sets. The latest addition to its line-up allows builders to re-create famous skylines from around the world. LEGO will be kicking things off with three different cities featuring iconic buildings from each locale. Full details below.

Initially, New York, Berlin and Venice are the first to hit online shelves. The NYC kit includes the Empire State and Chrysler buildings, the Statue of Liberty, One World Trade Center and the Flatiron Building. New York’s skyline is the most detailed set of this initial release. It covers a broad spectrum of architecture found within the city, from Art Deco to European and Modern. In some cases, the buildings will be new additions to the Architecture line-up while kits like the Empire State Building have been around for awhile.

Berlin and Venice feature classic European tourist destinations. The former will include the Victory Column, Reichstag, Berlin TV Tower, Deutsche Bahn Tower, and the Brandenburg Gate. Meanwhile, those interested in the Venice kit will find St. Mark’s Basilica and Campanile, St. Theodore and the Winged Lion of St. Mark, Rialto Bridge and the Bridge of Sighs.

LEGO has stated via its Facebook page that these new collections will be “available from January 2016”. Nearly the entire selection of Architecture kits can be found at Amazon, so we’d expect the same with this upcoming release. In the meantime, you can grab some of our favorite sets for the holiday season. Our top-picks from the LEGO Architecture line-up include: The White House, Seattle’s Space Needle and Frank Lloyd Wright’s Fallingwater.
