The Yecup 365 travel mug uses your iPhone to heat or cool your drink

There was a time when I was not a coffee drinker. Thankfully, I’ve since overcome such foolishness and regularly have a cup by my side. The struggle is finding the right vessel for your preferred beverage. Sure, I have some favorites but few are able to keep my cup of joe warm for an extended period of time. While there are popular options from Contigo and Thermos, to name a few, there is room for improvement here.

That’s where Yecup 365 comes in. This travel mug has a built-in power supply that is capable of heating and cooling your drink for hours on end. Not only that, it’s controllable via your smartphone so you can hit just the right temperature. While companies like Ember have gone down this road before, Yecup stands alone with its ability to maintain a much wider range of temperatures. Head below for full details.

Yecup has a few other features aside from its heating and cooling agent but we’ll get to those in a minute. First, let’s take a look at the main draw for this iPhone-connected travel mug. Yecup is able to heat a beverage to temperatures up to 158° F (70° C) and cool to 50° F (10° C). That’s a fairly wide range for a travel mug that doesn’t appear to be overly bulky. While 50° F may not seem very cold, it will certainly do a better job of maintaining in comparison to a room temperature alternative.

The mug itself has a double-layer stainless steel design with a built-in Bluetooth radio for communicating with your smartphone. Yecup’s app directs the thermoelectric termparature regulation system within the product. Once the desired level of hot or cold is achieved, users are alerted via a push notification and the glowing logo on the mug.

There is a 10000mAh battery pack built-in to Yecup that provides enough juice for the entire operation. Aside from being able to maintain a certain temperature, the power supply can also charge your smartphone if needed. The battery has a standard run-time of up to eight hours, which fluctuates based on usage and smartphone charging. Yecup is designed to fit into a standard drink holder found in today’s vehicles. It stands just under nine-inches tall and weighs 12.3 ounces.

Yecup is currently available for pre-ordering over at its Indiegogo Campaign page. After just a few days, it has raised $95,000, which is over three times the initial goal. Currently a pledge of $109 will deliver a 12-ounce cup in September. The early bird 14-ounce pricing is all gone, so it’ll run you $134 at this time.

Need a new mug, but don’t want to wait on Yecup? We’re big fans of Contingo’s line of insulated vessels. These are amongst the most popular thermal options on Amazon with 4.4/5 star ratings from thousands in some cases.
