This list will focus on some of the best ways to store your headphones at home or at the office. We have already gone over some of the best ways to keep things tidy while you’re on the road, in fact, we have a couple nice suggestions for that in our latest back-to-school feature. I often times find myself just placing my desktop cans in any random place, which prompted me to look into some of the best options for stands and the like. Otherwise they are always just going to get thrown across my keyboards, or over the guitar stands, with the cable strung all over the place. Not good.
Personally I wanted something a little more under-stated and out of the way, but there are a number of attractive desktop options out there as well. Down below you’ll find our top picks in both categories at more-than-affordable prices:
We have some interesting free-standing options, including some wood models, as well as some very handy hanging hook-type solutions that will save even more space. We already spend enough on our headphones, so I thought it would be nice to look at some not-so-expensive options here. I’m sure there are gold and elaborately crafted products out there that will cost hundreds, but just something simple will do the trick for my $130 – $230 headphones. All things considered, we just need something that works, won’t break the bank and looks pretty nice doing it. Some headphones include a nice stand or even a carrying bag, but the cases/bags aren’t super convenient at home and most popular headphone models these days don’t include a perch of some kind.
AmoVee Acrylic Headphone Stand
Our first pick in the stand category is the AmoVee Acrylic Headphone Stand for under $13 Prime shipped. It works with all headphone sizes and features a sleek black finish. This certainly isn’t going to be made from high-end materials, but it will definitely get the job done and will match most decors/headphones. It carries a 4+ star rating from over 330 Amazon customers.
Omega Headphone Stand
For those that like a more organic aesthetic, the Omega Headphone Stand is made entirely of wood with a walnut finish. It’s about 10-inches tall and should accommodate “almost” any size headphones. It goes for just over $20 Prime shipped on Amazon and has 4+ star reviews from over 150 customers.
And here are a few honorable mentions…
- Satechi Aluminum Headphone Stand + 3-port USB hub $35
- AmoVee Acrylic Rounded Headphone Stand $17
- Brainwavz Peridot Headphone Stand $19
- SAMDI Wooden Headphone Stand $24
The Anchor Under-Desk Headphone Stand Mount
We use this sucker on the daily and love it. For less than $13 Prime shipped you get a simple, minimalist looking hanger that uses 3M to rest nicely out of the way. It can support two pairs of cans and we haven’t any problems with it thus far. This is apparently the exact same 3M adhesive GoPro uses. Keep in mind, this is an under-mounted design, so it works best under the desk or on something of that nature. It has a flexible, yet sturdy silicone design that will treat your headphones with respect. Nearly 700 Amazon customers seem to agree, leaving it with a 4+ star rating.
Brainwavz Hengja Headphone Desk Hanger
Brainwavz also makes a very highly-rated option with the Hengja Headphone Desk Hanger for $14 Prime shipped. This is a side mounted product made from “high-quality” metal that is likely a better choice for those that might need a more rugged solution. The metal fixture clamps on to the side of your desk (or similar surface) in either vertical or horizontal fashion as well.
Here are a couple more notable hangers. Audio-Technica makes a very “pro studio” looking model and we also have a few attractive wood under-mounted options as well:
- GVDV Dual Wood Headphone Hanger $10
- Vogek L Type Single Headphone Stand $8
- Audio-Technica AT-HPH300 Headphone Hanger $22
