Although our HDTVs have continued to evolve and advance, one area that has lacked attention is audio. Simply put, those little 4W speakers aren’t doing the job. We found two deals this morning that will help remedy the situation without the hassle of a complex install.
Amazon offers the Sony 2.1-Ch. TV Base Speaker System with Built-in Subwoofer (model HTXT1) for $169.99 shipped. It has a list price of $300 (which it still sells for at Best Buy) but usually goes for around $250. Today’s deal is the Amazon all-time low price. This is a full-featured speaker system with three HDMI inputs (one out), optical and analog plus Bluetooth. It has a built-in subwoofer and can push 170W of power. Next up, Amazon also has Logitech’s Z906 500W 5.1-Ch. Surround Sound System for $217 shipped. That’s down from the original MSRP of $400, $163 less than B&H and the lowest that Amazon has ever sold it for. It’s loaded with inputs, too: two digital optical, one coax, six-channel direct, RÇA and 3.5mm. Full Dolby certification and a massive 1000W of power round out its features.
