Classic gaming fans are getting a brand new 8-bit style Double Dragon title on PS4/Steam next month [Video]

Classic Nintendo fans will surely be excited about the release of a brand new Double Dragon game. We have known of the existence of the title for a while, but developer Arc Systems has now released a gameplay trailer along with a release date for the new Double Dragon IV. While some initially believed it would take on a graphical upgrade, similar to Double Dragon Neon, the new title will actually sport a classic 8-bit look like the originals.

Most of the key players from the get-go were involved in development here including the original director, character designer, composer, and programmer. We will be getting a new story mode, 2P Duel, and some kind of mysterious un-lockable labeled: “??????”. The game is expected to release on January 30th, 2017 for PlayStation 4 and Steam. According to the official site, it will run you $8 or so when it launches. Anyone playing Double Dragon II on the NES Classic Mini will certainly appreciate more 8-bit beat’em up action.
