Belkin intros new line of compact Pocket Power banks starting at $20

Belkin makes accessories of all kinds. From iPad cases, and iPhone docks, to USB-C/Lighting cables, routers, smart home products and just about everything in between, the company has its hand in just about every add-on product category there is, and then some. And it is now adding to its lineup of mobile power banks with the announcement of the new Pocket Power series.

Designed to be its fastest and most compact mobile charging solution to date, Belkin says the new Pocket Power banks are lighter and thinner than any of its previous offerings while maintaining the ability to charge up multiple devices at once.

The new power banks feature polymer battery cell technology and come in three size capacities: 5,000, 10,000 and 15,000mAh. Citing numbers directly from Belkin’s press release, the 10,000mAh model’s 2.4A output is capable of charging an iPhone 7 up to 1.5 times, adding over 19 hours of additional calling time, and 11+ hours of web browsing. By comparison the largest capacity model can charge your latest gen Apple handset up to 5 times and add over 50 hours of call and web browse time.

Outside of the actual horsepower, there are a few other differences between the three models here. The smaller capacity chargers will ship in three colors that should neatly match most of your other gear: black, rose gold and silver. However, the 15,000mAh model will only ship in black. Another important distinction here is multi-device charging. Only the larger two models will be able to charge more than one device simultaneously.

The mini power stations come with a 6-inch Micro-USB cable, 4-LED indicators for power level and with something the company refers to as built-in safety features to protect your devices.

The 5,000mAh Pocket Power is supposed to be available on the Belkin webstore today. The listing is up at $19.99 $29.99, it is still labelled as currently unavailable. Those interested in the larger capacity options will have to wait a couple months or so as Belkin is saying they will be hitting store shelves “later this summer”. It does appear the latest generation Pocket lineup will be priced quite competitively if the 5,000mAh and already available MIXIT options are any indication. In the meantime, you might want to browse through some of the company’s other power solutions.

And speaking of Belkin, we have a great deal on the Belkin WeMo Switch Smart Plug in refurbished condition at $15 shipped over on eBay right now.
