Bossa Moonraker Bluetooth Speakers have the perfect design for your mid-century home

Mid-century modern design has returned with force in recent years thanks to mainstream brands like West Elm offering home goods across just about every category. Bossa, a California-based audio manufacturer, has taken note with its new Moonraker Wireless Speakers. Blending clean lines, luxurious woods and modern day tech has resulted in one of the coolest audio releases that we’ve seen in recent years.

At its simplest, Bossa’s Moonraker is a standalone piece of audio equipment that functions like many Bluetooth speakers we feature each day on 9to5Toys. But in reality, it’s designed to be much more. It’s a statement piece. Like many mid-century modern audio accessories from days past, it also functions as a piece of furniture in your home, reminiscent of the Fluance Fi70 that we told you about a year ago.

Moonraker sports handcrafted wooden legs that are made in California. Black Walnut, Reclaimed Teak and White Ash are the three choices available at this time to accent the white polymer shell that houses the speaker.

Each unit stands 28-inches tall with a width of 15-inches. So you’re hardly going to loose much floor space in your home. Bossa ships Moonraker in pairs, to provide a two-channel stereo experience, another industry standard of the middle 20th century.

Bluetooth connectivity with support for apt-X and AAC headlines the list of features here. But for those that prefer a wired connection, for a turntable perhaps, will be pleased to know that two analog inputs along with an optical/coaxial digital input are also included. It also ships with a simple white remote that handles playback, volume control and EQ.

Moonraker is powered by a pair of class D amplifiers that push out 150 watts of total power. Aside from the remote, there is also a small LED display on the speaker’s face that relays volume levels and playback status.

If you’re interested in Bossa’s latest release, prepare to open your wallet. This type of design won’t come cheap. You’ll need to shell out $2,400 for a pair of Moonraker speakers. While that’s more than your might typically spend, considering the made in America backstory and unique design, this may be an option worth considering. Without a doubt these speakers will be the focal point of conversation at your next gathering.

Interested in a new two-channel setup for your home? We recommend Audioengine’s line of power speakers. You can pick up a pair for as little as $249. Learn more in our hands-on review from last year.
