Whether it’s big, small or somewhere in between, creating a gallery with your favorite prints, art pieces, and personal items can instantly elevate the style of any space. Keep reading to find how to build yours today.

Now, this is a bit of a daunting project, as it’s not something you can really knock out in a day. It takes time, preparation, and patience. First you have to find the right wall that will be able to fit the pieces you are wanting to add.Wall color plays a key role in the way photographs look too! So to help all of you build your very own, I’ve put together a step-by-step guide to help you create your perfect gallery wall.

To start I would have these essentials handy: a hammer, nails, a level, tape measure, screwdriver and blue tape.

Frames

Almost anything can have visual impact when framed and hung, from magazines, photos of your significant other and even old family heirlooms can add to your collection. I recommend keeping the palette simple and using mirrored, black or white frames to make your collection feel cohesive.

Pick your Prints

Now for the fun part! Accumulating prints and pieces for your gallery wall can be a long process, but it’s where you can make it your own. The most important thing is for your wall to represent your style, history, and what you love most. Lulu & Georgia has an array of fun and bright art work and prints to display. As well as, the brand Minted has hundreds of prints to choose from and will frame for you too! Even Amazon has a wide selection of options.

Shelves

Using shelves is another way to create a gallery wall that can easily be updated without the need to rehang. If you don’t have a built-in ledge or shelf, you can buy thin shelving and stagger it throughout your wall.

Lay it Out and Hang it up

Measure the amount of wall space you want to fill and then tape off that section on a clean floor. This allows you to space everything out the way you want in advance of securing it on the wall. Always start by hanging the largest piece first. Once you’ve hung the largest piece, build off of that from the center outward with smaller pieces. Voila, you now can put together your own gallery wall!
