Compulocks unveils the very first security bracket lock for Amazon Echo

Amazon Echo has a wide range of accessories and add-ons that support its eco-system. We have seen a plethora of smart devices that work with the Amazon speaker and its Alexa technology, but today the folks over at Compulocks have announced their latest Echo security device.

Dubbed the world’s first Amazon Echo lock of its kind, the company is unveiling its new Echo Bracket for the Alexa-enabled smart speaker. Reminiscent of the Kensington MacBook locks and other products of that nature we have seen on the market for some time, the new Amazon Echo Bracket provides security and peace of mind in a seemingly attractive way.

The handcuff-designed bracket fastens nicely around the bottom of the Echo speaker and is then tethered with a cable lock. The bracket itself sports a pair of prongs that are made to “mesh” with the speaker holes on the unit. This, according to Compulocks, helps to keep the unit in position when locked up.

There is also a handy wire trap system in place. This will inhibit the ability to remove the power cord from the Echo so no one steals that either. It works with any typical keyed or combination lock.

Compulocks says the new Bracket is perfect for binging on Prime member deals at home and for more business oriented situations. While security like this could clearly help to bring Amazon Alexa tech to more public spaces, it’s hard to imagine this kind of thing being necessary at home. Although an Echo locking system could certainly come in handy at the office, in the conference room or even just for small places of business with employees lurking around.

We wanted to provide a minimalist low-profile security lock to keep with the modern design of the Echo and allow our customers a versatile solution for the mobility aspect…A lock bracket that handcuffs to the Amazon Echo and is quick and easy to setup is perfect for any Echo user in every environment, including using Echo at home to binge on Amazon Prime or an open space office that has it set up in their conference room.

The Amazon Echo Lock Bracket starts at just $37.90, but that will only get you the security anchor point itself. You’ll need to drop an extra $20 or $25 to get on of the three cable locks as well. Those include the Keyed Cable Lock for $19.95 or the $25 Combination Cable and Coiled Cable variants.

Oddly enough, it is not available on Amazon, but it is already up for sale at Maclocks.
