Minecraft Story Mode is finally coming to the Nintendo Switch on August 22nd

Minecraft has been one of the biggest games in recent years, with releases spanning practically every major console, including the Nintendo Switch. Back in 2015, the open-world building game received its first taste of a campaign, and to great success. Now, Telltale Games is finally bringing the first season of Minecraft Story Mode to Nintendo’s latest console, which will hit cartridges and the eShop on August 22nd.

Minecraft is typically a completely open-world game where you can wander around, build, mine and battle creatures. But with the addition of a story mode, a narrative was finally added to the otherwise endless game. For those unfamiliar, the first season of Story Mode revolves around a young Minecraft player named Jesse and his quest to find the Order of the Stone.

Later this month, Nintendo Switch owners will finally get a chance to make their way through the 5 episode season as well as 3 addition Adventure Pass episodes. Retailing for $40, players will be able to pick up the narrative-spinoff on the Nintendo eShop or as a standard Switch cartridge. If you’re looking to make sure you have it on August 22nd, you can preorder it now on Amazon for $39.99.

Minecraft fans on PC, PS4 and other consoles won’t be left out this month either, with the second episode of Season Two launching on August 15th. Entitled “Giant Consequences,” the next addition to the second season picks up where the last left off. Not much is known about all that it will entail, but players can expect to journey through and icy unknown.
