At today’s GoPro event, the industry’s action camera standard finally unveiled its Fusion 360-degree camera along with the new HERO6. In just 24 minutes, GoPro quickly provided a number of details on its latest releases. Head below for more.
Back in April we first heard details about the new Fusion camera but today its finally come to fruition. By leveraging GoPro’s smartphone software, users will be able to capture unique perspectives thanks to the 360-degree design. That includes the ability to take out specific sections of content to recreate a multiple-camera experience.
Fusion will offer all of the usual GoPro features, including 5.2K at 30fps, and a waterproof design to 16-feet. It ships with GPS, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth along with accelerometers to help with stabilization.
Fusion is available for pre-order today for $699 with shipments set to start in November.

Despite the hype around Fusion, this year’s event largely focused on the GoPro HERO6. Designed with a new in-house processor, 60fps 4K, 240fps 1080p and a host of other features, it is dubbed the most advance action camera from GoPro yet.
GoPro is outfitting its newest camera with a range of sensors, which includes GPS functionality, accelerometers and more. But what consumers are sure to love most is the new stabilization features. Something that has long plagued amateur content on action cameras, GoPro demonstrated some impressive footage on stage that made it appear like those concerns are a thing of the past.
HERO6 will sport the same touchscreen display as the previous generation model, bringing digital zoom via touch to the party. It will also have the same integrated voice controls for quick capturing of footage on-the-go. Along with the faster processor, a new 802.11ac radio will offer quicker transfer of footage between device and app.
The new GoPro HERO6 is available for purchase today at $499. It comes bundled with the Karma drone at $1,199.
