Organize your desk with these five cable management solutions under $10

Under $10

If you’re anything like me, keeping a workspace clean and organized is a daily, if not hourly task. While I can’t seem to keep my desk free of papers, wrappers and microSD cards, I have found a few easy ways to cut down on out of control wires. You see, with two monitors, external hard drives and a wired keyboard, it’s easy for my desk to become a mess. To combat this, I’ve rounded up five easy add-ons under $10 that will help de-clutter and simplify any workspace.

There are a few different approaches to cable management, some of which are more permanent than others. I personally like products that allow for easy adjustment when I need to change my setup. That’s why I’m more inclined to utilize solutions that don’t lean on sticky materials from 3M and other similar products. Velcro and cable sleeves are two of my personal favorites, and I’ve included each in today’s roundup.

I’ve listed a few different options below that are permanent and offer flexibility when needed. The best setup likely involves a hybrid use of both, but often varies by use and function.

Bluelounge CableDrop Cable Management System: $9.95

Bluelounge has been out in front of the cable management game for some time. Its sleek designs blend right in with most decors, and its products have received stellar ratings at Amazon. The single cable models shown above are perfect for under desks or on the backside of monitors. But Bluelounge also makes a version that is three-wide, which is ideal for home theater systems. The 3M backing is easily removable if you find yourself in need of an alteration.

VELCRO 8-inch x 1/4-inch Ties – 25 ct.: $7.50

Ahh yes, VELCRO ties. The great thing about this simple product is that it can adjust to handle multiple wires at a single time. I love to use them on my iMac peripherals, keeping everything nice and tidy. You can also cut a single strip down to size if there is excess. It’s not the flashiest product, but it sure does get the job done. Rated 4.6/5 stars.

TedGem Magnetic Cable Clips: $9

If you’re looking for something that blends into your setup a bit more, these magnetic cable clips just might do the job. Each piece has a magnetic back that allows it to be placed in a variety of locations and the faux-wood trim mimics natural finishes nicely. This is an Amazon Choice product with over 240 reviewers leaving a 4.5/5 star rating.

Techflex 1/4-inch Flexo Braided Cable Sleeve: $7

While these may not be the sleekest solution, it is an easy way to wrangle longer wires that have become unruly. Best of all, these are easily cut down to size if needed. Rated 4.3/5 stars.

3M Adhesive Cable Clips – 200-pcs.: $9

So I was a little late to the game on these nifty cable clips. When I got my stand-up desk a few months back, there were about 10 of these included in the box. Turns out, I needed about 50 more but I was very pleased with the end result. The great thing about this tiny clips is that you can place them just about anywhere, and a single cable will snap into place. Great for long wire runs or simply tacking one down in place. Rated 4.7/5 stars.
