Just about everyone has some form of a smartwatch these days. Be it an Apple Watch or Fitbit, people are taking an interest in monitoring notifications from their wrist as well as keeping up with their activities. One setback that you generally have to make with smartwatches, however, is the design aspects of them. Most look like a shrunken smartphone or have an obviously big circular screen with a flat tire. That is, until the NYSW.
I have an Apple Watch Series 3 and have used smartwatches for years, but whenever I go to a formal event I always wear a normal chronograph watch. There’s just something about a classic watch that you just can’t shake. I love the way a normal stylish watch compliments a formal outfit when out to dinner, but I always miss the smart functionality of my Apple Watch or similar.

NYSW is a new entry to the smartwatch game and just finished its initial Indiegogo funding. Raising almost 400% of its goal, it’s now available for pre-order through Indiegogo’s “INDEMAND” program. NYSW features a regular ol’ chronograph watch face with many smart abilities.
On the NYSW, you’ll find a step counter, a calendar that keeps itself correct (even through leap years), notification light, multiple reminders, and more. NYSW is housed in a 316L stainless steel watch case with a sapphire glass crystal. The band is made from Italian leather, and the watch itself is water resistant up to 5 ATM (or about 160-feet.)
The watch hands are diamond polished to create a beautiful mirror-like surface, and the face is absolutely beautiful. But, when you look at the NYSW, you see no digital screens, no ticking displays, and nothing that resembles a smartwatch. So, how does it display the information it receives from your phone? Through manual dials on the watch that look like the old-fashioned calendar and second hands on regular watches.
NYSW works with both Android and iPhone, so regardless of which platform you use it’ll work perfectly.
With an estimated delivery of March 2018, you don’t have to wait long to get your NYSW. With a starting price of $179, this unique smartwatch won’t set you back tons either, compared to other models.
