Sega sears Sonic into your bread w/ new limited edition toaster

Filed under unnecessary, yet totally awesome, the fine folks at Sega have unveiled the latest must-have kitchen accessory for your home… the Sonic Toaster! In a weird move, Sega did some sort of crowdfunding project to make this happen, needing to pre-sell 1,000 units before going to production. Well, it did that with ease. So now is the time to upgrade your breakfast with a Sonic Toaster, because why not? Full details on how you can get one below.

Speciality toasters are hardly a new phenomenon, and there’s plenty to be found over at Amazon. But how many do you know that can put one of the most iconic characters of the 90’s into your breakfast? Not too many? That’s what I thought. Sega is cashing in on all that retro gaming nostalgia going around with this Sonic Toaster. For just $35, you can add it to your arsenal of breakfast tools.

Sega launched the Sonic Toaster on its storefront a few days ago, needing to secure 1,000 reservations by July 12th to go forward with the project. To no surprise, the Sega-faithful stepped up, demanding that their toast be over-cooked with the Sonic logo seared into each piece of bread.

Are you tired of the same old toast? Do you find yourself constantly on the go and need a quick breakfast before you head out to collect those rings? Well, do we have the toaster for you! We need to sell 1000 toasters to make this happen, so make sure to pick one up and tell your friends about this amazing, limited edition toaster! This toaster is made of stainless steel with 2 slots that toasts an image of Sonic on one side of each piece of toast. The voltage is a standard 120v US plug.

Despite not having much success in recent years when it comes to gaming, the market is still simmering for collectible Sega gear. Both eBay and Amazon are littered with collectibles selling for a hefty upcharge. Sega itself offers a wide-range of fun desk accessories and other gear for avid collectors.

If you’re interested in the latest Sega collectible, head over to the official storefront and enter your pledge. At this time of writing, there isn’t a ship date yet for this product but we’re guessing it’s coming down the pipeline fairly quick. Sega currently has it listed for $35, however it’s unclear if that number will change once the crowdfunding portion of this offer is over. Either way, be sure to jump on this if you’re interested, there’s no telling how long Sega plans to keep it around.
