June unveils its more affordable second-gen. Smart Oven w/ launch day deal

Back in 2015, the original June Oven was revealed to much excitement. Primarily because of its impressive roster of designers that included a handful of Apple alumni. At the time, June was an expensive luxury kitchen accessory that was arguably ahead of its time.

Fast forward to today, and the smart home industry has grown by leaps and bounds. While the original $1,500 price tag was entirely too expensive for most folks, the second generation model being released today comes in at a fraction of the cost. Pair that with an overall attitude shift in consumers willing to spend more on smart home tech, and the new June Oven may be more viable than ever before.

Since June unveiled its original smart oven, it’s been tinkering behind the scenes looking for ways to improve its unique cooking solution. For the outside, the second generation may look quite similar to the original model. But a few key changes have helped cut down on costs and improved cook-times overall.

June has ditched the stainless steel knob on the front of the oven. The large five-inch touchscreen remains and June also got rid of the integrated weight scale. While those features did bring value and functionality, they also meant higher prices.

The physical size of June hasn’t changed from the first to second generation. It’s still 13-inches tall and 22-inches wide. Nearly a foot and half deep, it’s larger than most countertop cookers on the market today. June still leans on the same NVIDIA Tegra K1 processor to manage your cooking. June dropped the HD camera upgrade as well this time around which served as another cost-cutting measure for consumers.

For June, it was obvious that its software was the big selling-point for most consumers. Thanks to 100 chef-prepared recipies, June looks to make cooking just about any meal easier than ever. It can still handle a 12-inch pizza or 12-pound turkey but many of the smart features that made it stand out three years ago are gone. June promises a faster cooking experience overall and an easier-to-clean interior along with today’s changes. Which ultimately, isn’t that what you want from an oven anyways?

Smartphone control remains on the second generation along with a new Alexa skill that allows chefs to check in on how meals are going. The app delivers access to settings, temperature management and more.

The second generation June Oven is now available for purchase today. It has a list price of $599 but applying promo code NEW100 at launch delivers a $100 discount for early adopters. You can learn more on this landing page.
