Dell announces two new gaming monitors with refresh rates as high as 155Hz

Earlier today, Dell announced two new gaming monitors that will soon join its line-up that will be referred to as 2419HGF and 2719DGF. Its new offerings are sized at 24- and 27-inches, providing consumers two sizes to consider for their next display. If you were expecting size to be the only differentiator, you would be wrong. The 27-inch monitor packs a higher resolution in addition to faster refresh rates. Each display packs connectivity options that include HDMI, DisplayPort, and USB, but the number and specifications of ports vary between models.

If you are a PC gamer in need of a new monitor, you are likely overwhelmed with the wide selection of options out there. Varying levels of pricing can be confusing and leave you wondering if the $400-$600 models are noticeably different from $100-$200 options.

When shopping for a gaming monitor, it is not as simple as picking the highest-rated option. Console gamers may not notice a difference with Dell’s new monitors, but PC gamers may be able to appreciate some features on today’s release.

“With 24″ FHD and 27″ QHD resolution, fast overclocked refresh rates (144Hz for 24,” 155Hz for 27″) and an extremely rapid 1 ms response time for gameplay with minimum input lag, both deliver a fluid gaming experience offering gamers the flexibility to switch on or off AMD FreeSync”, Dell said in its press release.

Of the two new monitors offered by Dell, the 27-inch model packs the best specifications. With refresh rates as high as 155Hz and screen resolutions as high 1440p, this monitor does seem to be a great high-end option for gamers to consider.

Connectivity options include two HDMI ports, DisplayPort 1.2, five USB ports, and audio line-in/out jacks. One of the HDMI ports meets 2.0 standards while the other is 1.4. Of the 5 USB ports, three of them pack USB 3.0.

Dell’s new 24-inch offerings are a bit less flashy with up to 144hz refresh rate and 1080p resolution. Connectivity options include two HDMI 1.4 ports, a single DisplayPorts 1.2 port, three USB 3.0 connectors, and like its big brother, it offers audio line-in/out jacks.

As with many if its monitors, both of Dell’s new models sport a frame that’s height and tilt angle can be adjusted in nearly any way you can imagine, allowing gamers to find the perfect adjustments to ensure a comfortable experience.

Both the 24- and 27-inch models will go on sale beginning August 28 and will be priced at $320 and $550 respectively.
