B&O’s Autumn/Winter 2018 collection brings rich color options to its headphones & speakers

Bang & Olufsen has used IFA Berlin (similar to CES in the United States) as a platform to announce some of its upcoming products. Just yesterday we covered the company’s new $3,500 Beosound Edge speaker that was also unveiled at this event. B&O’s Autumn/Winter 2018 collection brings colors inspired by the old city of Marrakesh to four of its products. The three colors found in the AW2018 collection are referenced by the company as Dark Plum, Terracotta, and Limestone. While the Beoplay E6, H9i, and Earset will be available in select shades of the new colors, the Beosound P6 is the only speaker that made the cut to receive a makeover.

Of the three headphone options that will receive the upcoming color options, the Beoplay E6 and Earset are the most affordably-priced at $299 each. The Beoplay E6 are a brand-new offering from the company that are currently available in Black or Sand with the new Dark Plum color coming out in a couple of weeks.

The Beoplay E6’s share a couple of similarities with Apple’s Beats X headphones. That includes Bluetooth connectivity, a remote for controlling audio on the connected device, along with the fact that neither pair of headphones are truly wireless and have a cable that keeps the both earbuds connected to each other at all times.

When the new colors hit in September, B&O’s existing Earset headphones will gain Limestone as a new color option. A color which Bang & Olufsen describes as ‘a light, natural colour inspired by the vast sand dunes and the light of the desert’.

Like its new sibling, the Beoplay E6, B&O’s Earset headphones pack five-hour battery life. A benchmark that is beaten by quite a few competing headphone options like Apple’s Beats X and Powerbeats3 offerings.

The final pair of headphones to receive a new color option are the Beoplay H9i. This pair of wireless, over-ear headphones feature ‘advanced active noise cancellation’ and will be offered in both Limestone and Terracotta colors on September 13. The company uses the description of, ‘a warm, earthy shade resembling terracotta walls and tiles, clay and spices’ to clarify this color. These headphones are priced at $499 at B&O, but currently available colors can be had for less at Amazon.

The Beoplay P6 is the only Bluetooth speaker to receive new color options and like the H9i, the P6 will gain two of the three new color options. Along with the current black and natural color offerings, this speaker will be offered in Limestone and Dark Plum. Of the two, Dark Plum is the most vibrant being detailed as ‘a rich, saturated colour inspired by the fruits of the souk, ancient ceramic pots, and Moroccan carpets’. If you find yourself wanting this speaker, be prepared to part with $399.

All of these new color options for the Beoplay E6, H9i, Earset and Beosound P6 will be available on September 13. While the colors are not currently available, they are showing up on each product’s respective landing pages located on B&O’s website.
