Sony announces five new Extra Bass Bluetooth Speakers focused on partying and outdoor use

Sony Extra Bass Speakers

At CES 2019, Sony has announced five new Extra Bass Bluetooth speakers that are scheduled to join its existing lineup in the near future. These new models come in all sorts of shapes and sizes with its largest, the GTK-PG10, easily being the most intriguing of the bunch considering that it will hold on to four drinks within its built-in cup holders.

SRS-XB12, SRS-XB22, & SRS-XB32

Of all the new speakers announced today, the SRS-XB12 is the most affordable. For $59.99, customers will receive a small cylinder surrounded in a rubbery material that helps protect it from anything that hits it or gets spilled on it. An IP67 water and dust-resistance rating also contributes to its durability.

Next up, the SRS-XB22. This one will set you back $99.99, and also features IP67 dust and water-resistance. Additionally, it resists shock and rust. A washable fabric runs along the top, making it easy to keep looking good as new. An integrated Party Booster capability uses a built-in accelerometer to produce lighting effects when users touch or tap it.

At the top-end of its smaller speakers is the SRS-XB32. In addition to all the features mentioned for the XB22, this model offers 24-hour battery life and the capability of charging other devices. It also packs a strobe mode for some added fun. The XB32 is priced at $149.99.

Those looking for a more traditional boombox-speaker look, the GTK-XB72 is a beefy option worth considering. Unsurprisingly it is the most expensive option of all the new speakers announced by Sony, coming in at $349.99. Thanks to its larger size, the XB72 is supposed to pack a serious punch when in comes to bass and overall sound quality.

Sony’s GTK-PG10 (pictured above) is the clear winner of all the new releases. This is because it sports a top that folds out to show off four cup holders. On top of that, it is compatible with tripods, allowing users to prop it up and truly get the party started. It offers 13-hour battery life, a microphone port for karaoke sessions, and supports charging other devices via USB. The PG10 will be priced at $249.99.

While specific release dates have not been offered by Sony, the company plans to release most, if not all of them in the spring of this year. With such a heavy focus on partying and outdoor use, spring should be a great time for these to hit the market.
