After showcasing 25 creations in January that are still being reviewed by the LEGO Ideas team, we’re getting a look at the latest batch of fan-made models that hit the 10,000-supporter milestone. As the largest review round to date, there are an impressive 57 different sets all vying to get the seal of approval from the LEGO Group and become an official set. Today, The LEGO Group is unveiling the latest addition to its collection of fan-inspired creations. Entering as yet another beloved children’s series, the new LEGO Ideas Winnie the Pooh set brings all of the characters into brick-built form with five all-new minifigures, over 1,200 pieces, and all of the charm you’d expect from the Hundred Acre Wood. Today, LEGO is announcing the results of its latest Ideas review round with two fan-inspired creations being confirmed. Bringing a classic video game character into brick-built form in partnership with SEGA, builders will soon be able to assemble a LEGO Sonic the Hedgehog kit alongside a version of the famous Starry Night painting by Vincent van Gogh. Today, LEGO is officially taking the wraps off of its latest fan-inspired Ideas creation. Marking the first of the theme we’ve seen in 2021, fans will soon be able to head back to the Middle Ages and assemble a nearly 1,000-piece Blacksmith building complete with Medieval minifigures and more. Since launching back in 2008, the LEGO Ideas platform has given fans a way to turn their own creations into official kits. And while we typically see a handful of kits released from the theme each year, LEGO is making some new progress today to provide an additional avenue for creators to turn fan-made builds into official kits. Bringing a collection of lovable and iconic characters to minifgure form for the first time, the upcoming set delivers the familiar two-story brownstone apartment building alongside over 1,300 pieces and five minifigures. The summer is slowly coming to a close and August has been one of the more noteworthy months for LEGO news this year.
