Update: The Final Fantasy VII Rebirth FREE demo has now been officially confirmed for release today on PSN. You can download it right now. In addition to the demo available today, a section of the game’s Junon region will be playable in the demo at some point between today and the game’s release later this month starting on February 21.

During last week’s State of Play many expected to see some new footage or details on the upcoming Final Fantasy VII Rebirth – the second-half of the long-awaited ground-up remake of the legendary RPG – but Sony decided to host a dedicated showcase for the game instead. That stream is scheduled for later today at 3:30 p.m. PT/6:30 p.m. ET with over 19 minutes of new details and gameplay footage for the upcoming remake ahead of its official release on February 29, 2024. But as we await for the show to kick off, news has hit of a FREE demo for the experience at the ready alongside pre-orders on the Deluxe edition and more. Hit the jump for all of the details.

Today’s dedicated 25-min. Final Fantasy 16 State of Play gameplay showcase starts soon!

New Final Fantasy 16 gameplay is on tap today. Following February’s State of Play showcase highlighted by details on the upcoming Suicide Squad game, today we are getting new footage and a complete in-depth look at the new Final Fantasy 16 (pre-orders now live). As previously scheduled via an official post on the PlayStation Blog, Sony is dedicating a solid 25-minute broadcast to the highly-anticipated FF XVI this afternoon ahead of the game’s official PlayStation 5 launch later this summer on June 22, 2023. Square Enix Final Fantasy VII showcase: Rebirth 2nd part of FF VII remake trilogy, more

The latest Final Fantasy VII news is on the way. On the heels of the big Xbox and Bethesda showcase as well as the lengthy Summer Game Fest main event, Square Enix has scheduled a special Final Fantasy presentation for this evening. While it’s rumored that Sony will potentially have another event at the end of the month, tonight’s Square Enix showcase essentially caps off the summer reveal season. It appears as though it will be a “short and sweet” broadcast centered around the Final Fantasy VII 25th anniversary, but that could mean a number of things, including part 2 of Final Fantasy VII remake. Square Enix’s new Final Fantasy VII Buster Sword collectible alarm clock now up for pre-order

Square has unleashed a new Final Fantasy VII collectible in the form of Cloud Strife’s Buster Sword. Aligned much like it is on the iconic game’s title screen, this new Final Fantasy VII collectible alarm clock is designed to sit among your other Final Fantasy swag or on the nightstand and specifically takes the shape of Cloud’s main weapon from the more recent remake of the beloved Square Enix role-playing game. Square drops new 6-minute video on Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade and Yuffie episode

Last month, as part of its first State of Play presentation of the year, Sony dropped the first details on Final Fantasy VII Intergrade — a new version housing the upcoming expansion and the PS5 upgrade. Square Enix has now released a new nearly 6-minute trailer for Intergrade, once again highlighting the graphical improvements, quality of life enhancements, new gameplay modes, and the upcoming Yuffie expansion story arch. Final Fantasy 14 gets FREE PlayStation 5 upgrade, open beta, and more

Owners of the PlayStation 4 version will be able to upgrade to Final Fantasy 14 on PS5 for FREE alongside an upcoming open beta. As announced during the recent showcase, Square Enix’s ongoing Final Fantasy 14 title is about to see some major new updates as well as a current-generation console upgrade just ahead of the next mainline expansion known as Endwalker. Final Fantasy XVI: Everything we know so far — characters, summons, more

We got our first look at Final Fantasy XVI last month as part of the PlayStation 5 game’s showcase. The lengthy “Awakening” trailer Sony showcased gave us a good look at the game’s characters, setting, cutscenes, and enemies, but details on the experience were thin at best. Marvel’s Avengers gamers get FREE PS5 or Xbox Series X upgrade at launch

It now looks as though developer Crystal Dynamics will be offering free upgrades for Marvel’s Avengers on PS5 and Xbox Series X. With the game now delayed until September and effectively within arm’s reach of next-generation hardware releases, Crystal Dynamics has decided it will offer PS5/Xbox Series X versions for free to anyone that purchases the current generation versions.
