Bang & Olufsen showcases new OLED 4K TV with AirPlay and more built-in

Today, at IFA 2017 in Berlin, Bang and Olufsen has announced a new partnership with LG resulting in its first foray into OLED TVs. By hooking up with the industry leader in this technology, B&O all but guarantees a first class experience that delivers on tech and design.

The BeoVision Eclipse sports a 4K display and a unique 450 watt audio system that seemingly floats freely. Our favorite feature? The motorized stand that wheels itself to any location around the room to ensure optimum viewing angles. More below.

Bang and Olufsen views the Eclispe as something far more than just a TV. With support for a wide range of streaming services – both audio and video – as well as AirPlay, Chromecast and Spotify Connect, it’s positioned as a one-stop entertainment center.

As you’d expect, it checks all the boxes when it comes to specs. That includes a 4K HDR display which is available in 55- and 65-inch sizes. The 450W speaker supports three channel audio, along with the aforementioned streaming mediums.

Let’s revisit that motorized stand for a second. Thanks to a series of small wheels on the bottom, Eclipse can move around your room to the ideal viewing location. For instance if the sun sets in a way that makes seeing the display difficult, an adjustment can be easily made to remedy the situation. A motorized wall mount is also included, as well, for similar functionality.

LG’s OLED technology is the headlining feature here for sure. It’s long been the best in the industry, but this is the first time that it’s been borrowed by another brand. It also ships with the manufacturers webOS 3.5 platform which includes access to popular services like Netflix, YouTube and others.

Bang & Olufsen’s latest will hit retailers in September with the 55-inch model going for $10,990 and the larger 65-inch at $15,990.
