The new Snap Circuits Bric kit adds lighting, audio & moving parts to your LEGO builds

We are pretty excited about Toy Fair 2018 around here. While it may not yield the most interesting and unique innovations in the world of tech the way something like CES does, it’s a chance for us to dive head first into new LEGO kits, Star Wars action figures, and that brand new Hot Wheels/Rocket League cross-over.

Needless to say, some of the hottest toys of the year for children and adults alike will be surfacing over the next few days. And right now it’s time for the latest Elenco Snap Circuits kits…

Snap Circuits are essentially STEM-like kits for budding engineers. Elenco recently unveiled more details about its new Snap Circuits Bric: Structures that are fully integrated with everyone’s favorite brick building platform.

Bric: Structures includes a number of adapter-style pieces known as Bric-2-Snap that allows kids to integrate basic circuit building into their traditional LEGO builds. Clearly it’s a smart move by the folks at Elenco to position the new kit as a must-have for anyone looking to bring their LEGO designs to life.

Teachers and parents worldwide applaud SNAP CIRCUITS not just for its value in teaching basic electronics concepts, but also because the kits reinforce reading, small motor skills, and problem-solving in a fun and engaging way. ELENCO continues to be at the forefront of STEM education. Last Fall, students displayed their SNAP CIRCUITS projects to the First Lady at an event to raise STEM-education awareness.

On top of the patent-pending, the Bric-2-Snap technology kit (75 adapters total) also includes 140 fully compatible building bricks and 20 different Snap Circuits component parts. When it’s all said and done, you’re looking at the ability to add lighting, audio, moving parts and 3-D circuits to your LEGO builds.

Elenco is also showcasing other, non-LEGO compatible STEM kits at the 2018 Toy Fair, including the app-supported SnapQube that “teaches basic circuitry, such as how fire truck sirens, flashlights and garage lights work, with easy-to-snap, magnetic blocks that communicate with a parent-friendly mobile app.”

There are no official release dates or pricing as of yet on the new kits, but stay locked to 9to5Toys for all the latest updates from Toy Fair 2018.
